Job Description

Summary

The Cermakova Lab in the Center for Precision Environmental Health is seeking a motivated individual to support laboratory research activities. The position requires training in biomedical sciences or a related field, along with strong communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to independently prepare and organize laboratory reagents, perform experiments, and maintain accurate records. The successful candidate will be expected to stay current with relevant scientific research and continually develop their technical skills and expertise.

Job Duties

  • Plans and conducts cell culture and molecular biology experiments and complex procedures.
  • Follows and refines protocols and assists with troubleshooting of problems encountered during research.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data, generates figures, and presents experimental results.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes relevant information for research studies.
  • Documents experimental results and reports findings to Principal Investigator.
  • Maintains laboratory equipment, protocols, and reagents.
  • Orders laboratory reagents and communicates with vendors as needed.
  • Trains and assists less experienced research staff as needed.
  • Contributes to a collaborative and productive laboratory environment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidate should keep a detailed laboratory notebook and update laboratory manuals as needed.
  • Experience preferred, but not required: 2-3 years of previous molecular biology laboratory experience.

Work Authorization Requirement:

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
