Qualifications:
The Professional Development Practicum is a graduate course designed to provide students with the opportunity to reflect on and explore various careers of interest within the field of kinesiology. It is designed for students to gain experience in multiple fields of interest to best understand various career paths and set goals. Students are required to complete fieldwork hours, and academic coursework designed to support student's career development, exploration, and growth.
This course will be taught in a hybrid format during the 2026 Fall term. The time will be agreed upon with the instructor.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will hold a terminal degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field and have a recent publication record in the field, or a Master's degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field and have at least five years of current, relevant professional experience. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the graduate level as evidenced by recent course evaluations is strongly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable supporting and working in a multi-cultural environment. Preference will be given to those who have taught the course.
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $2,482 - $3,436 (1 unit) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
