Summary

This position provides outreach, education, and behavioral health services to adolescents and young adults ages 13–24 within one of the seven Baylor Teen Health Clinic locations. Conducts diagnostic assessments and collects, analyzes, and interprets behavioral health data to identify mental health needs and inform appropriate interventions. Develops and implements evidence-based treatment strategies, delivering therapeutic services to support patients in addressing mental, emotional, and psychosocial challenges under clinical supervision as appropriate. Engages with schools and community partners to increase awareness of clinic services and expand access to care. Provides psycho-education on topics such as depression, anxiety, and risk-related behaviors to promote overall well-being.

The Baylor Teen Health Clinic currently provides low cost/no cost pregnancy testing, family planning, sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and HIV/AIDS education and screening, primary healthcare, case management and mental health services to youth and young adults ages 13-24 in Harris County.

Job Duties

  • Provides outreach, education, and advanced behavioral health counseling services to adolescents and young adults (ages 13–24) within one of seven Baylor Teen Health Clinic locations and affiliated community settings.
  • Independently coordinates the provision of behavioral health services, including psychosocial screening, comprehensive assessment, crisis intervention, short-term counseling, care coordination, and referrals to internal and external resources.
  • Utilizes evidence-based interventions to promote optimal mental and emotional health, with a focus on conditions such as depression, anxiety, and risk-related behaviors.
  • Conducts clinical assessments through interviews, standardized screening tools, and observation to evaluate mental status, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans or appropriate referrals.
  • Provides individual psychotherapy to support patients in achieving positive psychological, behavioral, and social outcomes.
  • Participates in regular clinical supervision and case consultation to review patient progress, ensure quality of care, and support treatment planning.
  • Maintains accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring all clinical and administrative deadlines are met.
  • Serves as a liaison between medical providers, patients, families, schools, and community-based organizations to support coordinated, integrated care.
  • Conducts outreach and engagement activities within schools and community settings to increase awareness of services and improve access to care.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Woker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor or Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LCSW
  • Experience with HIV positive patients.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
