Job Summary
The Radiology CT Manager is responsible for providing leadership and professional expertise or services through leveraging the knowledge and skills of others. The CT Manager manages the daily operations of all CT sites of care in the Radiology Department. This individual is responsible for providing leadership in the operational changes for CT in the Radiology Department while contributing to the overall strategy, direction, and vision. Incumbent is responsible (directly or indirectly) for all subordinate staff activities related to human resource management (hiring, promotion, salary changes, performance coaching, disciplinary actions, training and development, ensuring consistent application of organizational policies, etc.) Incumbent has measurable impact on operational effectiveness, attainment of department/unit objectives, service to customers and attainment of research goals.

Responsibilities*
This position oversees the day-to-day management of the Radiology CT Department across all sites of service with potential to oversee future expansions in Radiology CT.
Manage all clinical technologist staff and patient care tech associates at the following sites of care: University Hospital, D. Dan and Betty Kahn Pavilion Hospital, Children and Women's Von Voigtlander, Brighton Center for Specialty Care, West Ann Arbor, East Ann Arbor, Canton Health Center, Livonia Center for Specialty Care, Ypsilanti Health Center, and any future expansions in CT.
Establishes operational objectives and assignments.
Write specifications and select all capital purchases for CT hospital programs.
Manage installation and acceptance of all hospital equipment into CT.
Monitor and assist with ACR accreditation for CT units.
Make recommendations for and participate in implementation of new technology.
Manage and coordinate all quality control procedures for CT studies.
Manage all clinic records and implement added items to meet standards required by TJC and other regulatory agencies.
Assist faculty with implementing high end image processing techniques and their applications to clinical and research procedures.
Train technologist staff on imaging procedures, protocols, and data processing workflows.
Counsel, develop, and evaluate staff to achieve department and institutional objectives.
Analyze monthly activity reports and wait time reports and adjust patient schedules and scheduling templates to meet patient volume demands.
Represent the Division and Department to other departments and outside organizations.
MiChart protocolling changes as part of optimization.
Visit type changes based on new procedures and modifying/updating workflow as part of optimization.
Troubleshoot all CT technical issues for sites of care.
Manage customer and staff complaints/incident reports.
Complete employee annual performance evaluations.
Track all certifications, mandatories, and credit regulations for all staff members.
Perform Joint Commission imaging guideline requirements.
Imaging and computer equipment selection and implementation.
Acceptance testing for imaging equipment and computer processing stations.
Interface directly with vendors for advance imaging applications that need testing and demonstration to physicians.
Collaborate with vendors to address ideas presented by faculty regarding advancement of technology.
Work with faculty to implement/test modifications and potential enhancements to protocols.
Attend all conferences, staff meetings, modality meetings, huddles, and project meetings.
Recruit, hire, and manage technical staff.
Delegates assignments to subordinates.
Work collaboratively with various leaders to identify and resolve operational issues.
Project and monitor unit's budget and provide information to Operations Director.
Participate and coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of multi-disciplinary patient care activities and programs.
Plan, coordinate, lead, and evaluate LEAN initiatives and other quality improvement activities.
Assure compliance with regulatory, legal, patient care, and safety programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
Graduation from an accredited school for Radiologic Technology.
Must possess and maintain ARRT registration.
Bachelor's degree required.
Master's degree in related field preferred.
5+ years of extensive professional experience with reasonable prior management or supervisory experience required.
Understand and have created project plan budgets and financial analysis.
Demonstrate exceptional communication skills.
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with administrators, physicians, peers, and subordinates as evidenced by performance evaluations and documentation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications*
Experience with capital project development and execution preferred.
Proficiency with computer systems and PACS is preferred.
Experience with continuous quality improvement and LEAN processes is preferred.
Training in high reliability is preferred.
