Job Summary
The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites applications for an APT position in Resource and Energy Engineering (REE), with the tentative start date in Fall of 2026. We are seeking an outstanding APT Faculty with the potential to be a world-class leader in the strategic REE growth areas, with a preferred emphasis on:

1. Developing energy resources including renewable, fossil, and nuclear
2. Transporting, storage, and distribution of energy as electricity and fuel
3. Engineering design for energy infrastructure projects
4. Engineering management of industrial energy systems

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Engineering, or a related discipline appropriate to the REE research focus. The appointment will be in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering (COE). Applicants must show exceptional promises for high-quality teaching, curriculum administration, and professional development. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives.

The appointments are expected to commence September 1, 2026, for the start of the Fall 2026 semester. Rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor will be determined based on candidates experience and capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be committed to excellence in teaching, service, and development, and will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, build and lead teams of students, and contribute to professional service within UTA and the external community. Duties include (1) commitment to quality teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, (2) commitment to administrating the REE program, and (3) service to the local and international professional communities.
Required Qualifications
Minimum requirements for this position include: (1) a Ph.D. or equivalent in one of the disciplines noted above or a related discipline that clearly aligns with a focus on REE education; (2) experience in the energy industry, (3) exceptional organizational and communication skills, and (4) commitment to quality teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will have high level technical design expertise, research & development experience, or engineering management experience that complements the Resource & Energy Engineering program.

We particularly welcome candidates who understand the energy transition and can bridge the theory and implementation the integration of conventional and renewable energy resources. The new hire will help build cross-cutting collaborations and add critical mass to the Department’s growing efforts in REE and related interdisciplinary areas.
