What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking an Operations and Engineering Elevator Systems Program Lead to oversee Sandia's elevator program within the Infrastructure Operations Division. This program currently supports ~90 elevator systems between Sandia New Mexico and other sites. The selected applicant will c ollaborate with cross functional teams within Infrastructure Operations to ensure maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and modernization of elevator systems are complete and align to the standards of the asset management program.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Identify potential elevator system operational risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and corrective actions.
- Support Infrastructure Operations in-house design of elevator modernization and corrective maintenance projects.
- Provide leadership and tactical planning for execution of projects within the elevator system program.
- Lead asset management and establish responsibilities for implementation of the Facilities Elevator Maintenance and Inspection Program, document responsibilities, manage the program, and communicate the program status to facilities management.
- Adhere to safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Document the functions and technical specifications of new elevator technology.
- Develop elevator systems processes and training for Sandia Maintenance and Emergency Management personnel.
- Shepherd design of elevator systems by engaging in-house design and coordinating with elevator supplier shop drawings and systems.
- Review all elevator inspection reports and provide oversight of the elevator preventive maintenance, inspections, and tests to identify adverse trends in performance.
- Partner with the Corporate Investment Plan Strategic Planner to prioritize and obtain funding for elevator sustainment.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$99,400 - $193,600
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution plus 10 years of experience in elevator modernization, installation, maintenance, or other relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Knowledge of current production and legacy elevator systems including the interactions between mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls, and software communications architecture.
- Knowledge of ASME, OSHA, and local building codes.
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated experience with design.
- Experience with NNSA, DOE or other federal government requirements.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple high rigor tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Current Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification.
About Our Team:
The Civil, Structural and Geospatial Department provides a comprehensive perspective of Operations and Engineering support and Life Cycle Asset Management for our Sandia/NM site infrastructure systems, structural systems, and geospatial solutions for facilities systems to enable Sandia Operations. We provide support to our mission partners related to site activities, determination of new project needs, and the development of engineered solutions. Our department supports excavation and penetration activities as well as Facilities Graphic Information System (FGIS) support for Sandia/NM Facilities and Infrastructure systems.
