Clinical Dietician III – OC (On-Site)-Irvine,CA

Individual contributor that is fully proficient in applying established standards. Works independently; may instruct or coach other professionals. Under general supervision, formulates and plans patient menus based on diet requirements in accordance with physician orders and general dietetic standards and rules. May monitor and assign work to other dietitians. Treats patients with complex nutritional deficiencies,determines extent and duration of diet therapy, and instructs patients and patients' families in appropriate diet upon discharge. Designs and implements appropriate plan of nutritional care for patients at nutrition risk. Provides on-going nutritional care and monitors patient progress toward nutrition goals. Provides nutrition counseling and follow-up. Oversees the activities of the Diet Technician. Serves as a resource and provides educational sessions to staff, other health care professionals and the community on current nutrition topics.

- Demonstrates competence appropriate to their role and function in age-specific care and nutrition management.
- Delivers quality care consistent with the scope of practice of the discipline.
- Provides timely, comprehensive and complete education/teaching to patients and families and documentation of progress towards achievement of outcomes.
- Delivers care for a defined group of patients using effective delegation, supervision and decision-making skills.
- Provides timely, evidence-based, and appropriate education to medical staff, other health care professionals and the community.
- Ensures that all professional and regulatory standards are met and maintained.
- Promotes collaboration and teamwork among all members of the healthcare team.
- Effectively communicates with all customers/team members to meet organizational goals and customer service expectations.
- Maintains current knowledge, skills and competencies through involvement in professional continuing education activities.
- Promotes the efficient and effective utilization of resources.
- Demonstrates performance improvement activities to promote continuous improvement in care delivery.
- Demonstrates assimilation of core organizational values within own performance.
- May participate in research activities related to the field of nutrition.
Your qualifications should include:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree with six years recent experience or Master’s degree with four years experience as a clinical dietitian
- Minimum Experience: 6+ years recent experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years experience as a clinical dietitian with a Master’s degree
- Required Courses/Training:
- Req. Certification/Licensure: Registered Dietitian; For Endocrinology position, Certification as a Diabetes Educator For pediatric service, CCS Panel provider or complete application within 60 days of hire. Board Certification as a Specialist in Oncology Nutrition, Diabetes Educator or Nutrition Support Clinician.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $39.25 - $60.84 / hour
