Job Description

Summary

The Boeynaems lab seeks a postdoctoral associate to study protein condensation is implicated in the etiology of neurodegenerative disease and brain cancer. The work includes cell culture, microscopy and high-throughput genetic screening.

Job Duties

  • Designs and conducts high-throughput genetic screens, including library design, cloning, screening (FACS- or microscopy-based), sequencing and analysis.
  • Collects and compiles data with appropriate metadata, and analyses using appropriate statistical methods, and according to rigorous data standards.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information needed for particular studies.
  • Prepares experimental results for written publication and oral presentation.
  • Assists the group leader in writing of publications and grants.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in molecular or cellular biology, or biophysics.
  • Highly self-motivated with outstanding experimental skills.
  • Able to think independently but also work well in a team.
