The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) Pediatrics Division of Allergy/Immunology/Rheumatology at Augusta University offers comprehensive services in the 154 bed Children's Hospital of Georgia with the region's only Level IV NICU and Level 1 PICU. We have a comprehensive group of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists serving children and families from across Georgia, and we are a key subspecialty referral center for the southeast. The Children's Hospital of Georgia is part of the Augusta University Health System which includes a 478-bed medical center, a Medical Office Building with more than 80 outpatient practice sites in one convenient setting, and a Critical Care Center housing a 13-county regional trauma center.
Augusta University is actively seeking a Pediatric Rheumatologist for a full-time position at Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level. There is currently one board certified Pediatric Rheumatologist supported by a Pediatric Rheumatology nurse and clinical studies coordinator. Clinical opportunities include providing inpatient consultations and maintaining outpatient clinics. Experience in teaching medical students, residents, allergy/immunology, and adult rheumatology fellows is highly desirable. The division offers opportunities for pursuit of scholarly and research interests and has a close working relationship with Allergy/Immunology and adult rheumatology services. We are also involved in the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) projects, a member of Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Research Group (PRCSG) and participate in clinical trials.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Direct patient care for pediatric patient population in include both outpatient and inpatient setting. Clinical care would include but is not limited to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of disorders, consultations, acute care, ordering and interpreting lab results, developing treatment plans, patient/family education and various procedures.
- Maintaining and ensuring that relevant patient records are properly updated.
- Sharing weekday and weekend emergent/after-hours call coverage.
- Participating in mentorship and providing clinical supervision and consultation to residents/medical students/staff at Children's Hospital of Georgia and developing a more in-depth educational experience for trainees.
- Providing training to residents/medical students/staff in pulmonology through didactics and clinical supervision.
- Participating in community activities, speaking engagements and educational support for students at local schools and universities.
- Participating in one (or more) departmental/institutional committee.
Required Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited medical school/university. Board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology.
Must have or be eligible for a state of Georgia medical license; Federal DEA; PALS/CPR certified.
Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training
Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
