Job Description

Summary

The Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine, Clinic Team at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Support Services Coordinator to join our team. This role will manage and coordinate patient referrals. Located on site at the McNair campus to work directly with patients in real time, as well as existing internal referrals. Liaise with leadership from each of the specialties to seek the most expeditious outcome for each patient. This is an on-site role.

Job Duties

• Schedules patient appointments for the doctor’s office ambulatory environment.
• Coordinates patient referrals.
• Enters and maintains patient records.
• Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork.
• Corresponds with patient's referring physician as needed.
• Reviews referral data and ensures all referral loops are being closed in an effective and timely manner.
• Provides administrative support for physicians as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
