Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY
This role will be involved in the development, support, and management of analytical and operational business intelligence (BI) solutions which serve Pfizer’s Manufacturing and Supply Chain (PGS) organization.
This role functions as a subject matter expert to partner with internal client(s) on data-driven technology strategies to achieve their strategic, financial, and operational goals to support their strategy effectively and successfully. This role will also fulfill fiduciary responsibilities for budgeting and forecasting expenditures and accruals, meeting financial goals, and developing annual spending models. The candidate for this role will be responsible for leading complex projects to fulfill global Pfizer roadmap solutions to maintain Pfizer’s position as a leader in digital technologies and innovation.
Technologies that will be used include (but are not limited to) Amazon Web Services (AWS) data/analytics technologies, Informatica IICS, Snowflake, Oracle, Python, Apache Airflow, Tableau, BusinessObjects and Power BI.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for the overall quality of application support for the Supply Chain and Manufacturing analytics suite of applications, including the PGS Data Warehouse and other Data Marts/Reporting.
Manages, motivates, and develops a team of technical service staff in ensuring the team achieves their objectives and to constantly improve quality.
Ensure all application support activities and actions are compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) processes and procedures.
Oversee high priority incidents, providing guidance and direction to the team, and communicating to affected business users and executive stakeholders. If required, assist the team in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues and engage others to ensure timely resolution.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and engage others to define an appropriate approach and deliver results. Design and deploy processes and analytics to improve team’s operational efficiency and streamline technical landscape.
Ensure contractual SLA’s and KPI’s are being met.
Partner with Creation Center(s) and Solution Delivery leads to define and implement supportability requirements and manage transition of projects to long-term support.
Stay abreast of new capabilities in the cloud analytics space and ML/AI to improve existing solutions.
Participate in leadership team meetings interacting with senior management in Digital and the Business, contribute technical expertise when required and/or needed.
Create and maintain application support plans. Ensure support team is completely cognizant of the solutions developed and implemented by the team. Cross-train team members on complexity of application support needs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BS in a Computer Science or advanced analytics field.
7 or more years of experience building and supporting solutions with BI/analytics technologies including: Amazon Web Services (AWS) data/analytics technologies, Informatica IICS, Snowflake, Oracle, Python, Apache Airflow, Tableau, BusinessObjects and Power BI.
Excellent problem-solving and operational support skills.
Excellent customer service and interaction skills, with the ability to manage conflicts at all levels of the organization.
Excellent communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical individuals.
Comprehensive knowledge of the practice of supporting and maintaining departmental BI and analytical solutions.
Experience managing projects in complex environments.
Experience managing relationships with third party suppliers.
Agile mindset and experience using the Scrum framework to manage outsourcing teams.
Proficiency in managing offshore contractor teams from multiple global locales.
English Proficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
MS/MA in Computer Science or other related field.
Must be able to multi-task effectively and prioritize goals to ensure maximum return on the resources utilized.
Flexible approach and works well under pressure.
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply innovative technologies.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Partner with other parts of the Pfizer Digital’s Artificial Intelligence, Data and Advanced Analytics organization (AIDA) as well as Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S).
RESOURCES MANAGED
Financial Accountability
The candidate will be responsible for Budgetary allotments up to $1,000,000 USD. Additional SOW work from $5,000 – $1,000,000 USD possible throughout the year.
Supervision
No Direct or Indirect People Responsibility.
Manage multiple groups of up to 10+ contingent workers per group.

Pfizer Digital is a 7x24x365 endeavor. This role may require occasional physical or virtual participation on a weekend, holiday, or after normal business hours.
This role may require occasional travel to regional and/or global sites.
