Job Description

Summary
The Information Security Machine Learning (ISML) team empowers information security by harnessing patterns and insights from vast amounts of data to predict, detect, and respond; transforming reactive security into autonomous protection. It approaches this through a few main functions including solving short term problems within AIS with applied science, developing long term autonomous security solutions with groundbreaking research, and building the needed infrastructure to support the solutions for ourselves and partner teams.

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate product-focused manager to lead a team of highly capable machine learning engineers building pioneering autonomous security capabilities at Apple.

Description
In this role, you will be responsible for managing an existing team of 5 ML Engineers, and guiding the existing and future efforts of Applied Machine Learning for the ISML team. The team is responsible for the development and implementation of machine learning models, model retraining and refactoring, and identifying or designing new approaches and techniques to achieve successful security outcomes with partner teams. Your team will build AIML solutions for security teams that need to incorporate machine learning into their processes, services, or tooling in order to solve problems at scale.

The team will also work in tandem with our machine learning researchers to build solutions around outcomes achieved from innovative research in autonomous security. Your work will have a direct impact on enhancing security services, improving security outcomes, and fostering innovation within our organization.

Good candidates for this role will have a history of building, supporting, and developing high performing technical teams that operate at large scale within complex organizations. Candidates should be able to deal well with ambiguity to guide the team in adapting to changing conditions. They will have track record of collaborating with teams to build solutions that are high quality and performant, with a great user experience.

Day to day, you will directly support the team and their needs, while also spending significant time connecting with other teams in Information Security and Apple working on technologies, programs, or software that could benefit the solutions that you build. To fully accelerate the autonomous security program, it is important that your team identify and integrate with the tools, platforms, and resources across Apple that can be used to achieve our goals. Building a strong network across Apple is key to success in this role.
