As the Internationalization team, our mission is to make Apple’s products accessible to our customers all around the world. We are looking for a software engineer who is passionate about languages, someone who is empathetic and wants to create solutions for customers across a wide variety of languages and locales!

Description
Our mission is to make the input experience—using Keyboard, Dictation, Apple Pencil, etc.—more inclusive and accessible for everyone, regardless of what languages they use or what background they come from.
In this role, you will:
- Write code for Input Methods for various languages such as Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Tamil, Vietnamese, etc.
- Design and develop Keyboard Layouts for over 100 languages.
- Work at the forefront of the user experience for input coupled with Apple Intelligence, including Writing Tools.
- Collaborate with different teams—such as Accessibility, Hardware, Human Interface, NLP, Privacy, etc.—to solve both design and engineering challenges and ensure that the next generation of experiences can reach all Apple customers.
- Contribute to the wider internationalization community both within and outside of Apple, such as the open-source CLDR project.

Minimum Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of increasing responsibility and relevant experience
- Programming ability in a C-like dialect (Java, C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, etc.)
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and coding standards
- Familiar with unit testing, with a strong focus on high-quality software
- Experience in building iOS apps using and Apple’s UI frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with internationalization and Unicode
- Passion for language and for improving Apple’s products
