What You Will Achieve

Working on major and secondary capital projects at the PGS Melbourne sterile injectable (SI) manufacturing facility, the Electrical & Infrastructure Engineer is accountable for engineering oversight of facility electrical services, equipment, reliability development from inception to implementation according to the CPA agreed timings. This may include feasibility reviews, business case development, project cost book inputs, detailed design, involvement in CPA processes and procurement, liaising with contractors, suppliers, internal customers and management/overview of specific project tasks. The Electrical Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for prioritizing and managing their workload and communicating any issues, constraints or challenges with the Engineering Services Manager.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Generate User Requirement Specifications (URS), Risk Assessments (RAs), to select and oversee procurement of electrical and related infrastructure works and services.
  • Lead design and reviews related to Electrical infrastructure, including design, implementation and operation related to projects to ensure delivery of appropriate, reliable and safe functionality through to commercial manufacture.
  • Work within the project team to engage with design consultants, construction managers and sub-contractors to develop, review and finalize project scope.
  • Input into and/or lead site electrical load capacity assessments to ensure that existing capacities are suitable for new project loads.
  • Provide technical support from project definition through to commercial manufacture.
  • Ensure related maintenance, calibration, validation and all project activities comply with safety (regulatory and Pfizer) standards.
  • Ensure the systems are maintained in a GMP compliant state and that GEP as robustness, reliability, safety and efficiency apply.
  • Oversee engineering commissioning as well as providing technical input into the validation of the project Electrical infrastructure scope.
  • Coordinate, schedule & participate in daily activities of (Current) Good Manufacturing Practices (part of GxP) production in the manufacturing area to meet supply chain needs.
  • Adhere to site safety standards, participate in routine safety training events, and enforce safety and biosafety requirements as they relate to the manufacturing department.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 5+ years industry experience as an Electrical project engineer in a Pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation preferred.

  • Strengths in Building Services disciplines is highly desirable, in particular electrical services, light and power including electrical power distribution, emergency and back up power and systems integration. Interfacing facilities and systems to authority and statutory suppliers experience will be expected.

  • Strengths in the design, commissioning, operation and integration of SCADA type systems to equipment and facilities, particularly commercial/industrial PLCs and proprietary programming systems are a prerequisite.

  • A technical degree in a field that is related to electrical or automation. A Masters or Doctoral degree are not required but are preferred. 

  • Project Management experience, training or certification (Preferred)

  • Experience in a Pharmaceutical environment/ sterile injectable (Preferred)

  • Delegation & Leadership Skills

  • Financial management and procurement competency
