You will participate in pre-clinical drug discovery and development projects with a focus on antibody-drug conjugates (ADC) that target oncogenic pathways and processes. You will work as a member of the ADC Biology team, performing a range of in vitro pharmacology and pharmacodynamic assays to understand the structure-activity relationships (SAR) of novel ADC payloads. You will be a technical and scientific specialist in the conduct of SAR studies and will be responsible for experimental study planning, design, and execution. You will be responsible for data collection, appropriate documentation, and accurate reporting and presentation of study data for multidisciplinary teams. You will work collaboratively in matrixed and cross-functional teams to efficiently address project needs in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply cellular and molecular biology laboratory techniques to preclinical research projects in the area of cancer biology, with a focus on oncogenic tumor dependency
- Support drug linker discovery and PD marker activities through execution of molecular and cell-based methodologies, including cytotoxicity assays, reporter assays, AlphaLISA/ELISA, and WES.
- Investigate novel biological MOAs of ADC linker payloads through development, optimization, and execution of complex assays
- Independently design, execute and document key experiments to enable clear go/no-go decisions; present findings to large and small audiences
- Provide leadership within technical area of expertise; may train others
- Maintain rigorous records of experimental progress using electronic laboratory notebooks
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of experience or Master's degree and 4+ years of experience
- Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Experience with tissue culture and diverse molecular biology techniques,
- Ability to adapt and adjust to a rapidly evolving environment
- Ability to use critical thinking to address challenges and overcome obstacles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working in the industry environment
- Background in cancer drug discovery related to ADC biology
- Experience in protein degradation and proteostasis is strongly preferred
