- Come join Intel's Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) working on next generation FPGA technologies.The candidate designs, develops, validates, and/or debugs software and hardware abstractions and frameworks for acceleration with FPGAs to support embedded, data center, and communication customers.
- The candidate will be part of the team that is responsible for development of System Level Designs/ Specific Reference designs for Intel FPGA customers targeting latest Intel FPGA Development Kits. These reference designs will include Embedded Systems created using Hard Processor, Soft IP Processor, PCIe Interface , High Speed Ethernet IP ,External High Speed Memory IPs, on-chip Memory Mapped Interconnect ( AXI/APB/AHB/Avalon) , debug IP such as signaltap, ISSP, ISMCE, bridge and adapter IP and supporting a full stack of tools which assemble these IPs in interesting and dynamic ways.
- The engineer will have a direct influence on our customers and the adoption of our products, with tasks including the following:
- Work closely with developers across software, RTL IP and embedded engineering to ensure we develop designs that help our customers to get started with our development kits.
- The candidate will be responsible for hosting the designs on Intel's web/git repo
- Use Intel FPGA design tools to enable usability with respect to reference design development
In Q4 2023, Intel announced PSG will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024 with ongoing support from Intel. This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company (Altera) at some time in the future.
Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD degree in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant industry experience in-
- Embedded System design and C/C++ application development
- Knowledge of FPGAs and work experience in FPGA domain is preferred.
- Ability to work on multiple FPGA development kits
- Tcl/perl/python scripting languages
- Hands on experience with FPGA design suites like Quartus
- Excellent hardware and software debugging skills
- Good understanding of ARM and RISCV based microcontroller architectures.
- Basic Knowledge of Verilog/VHDL – RTL
- Experience with version control tools like git
- Familiarity with FPGA design flow and compiler tool chain
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
