The Sr. Manager, Product Owner, Predictive Operations, will be responsible for managing and owning the vision, strategy, development, and ongoing improvement of predictive operations products within the organization. The Product Owner will work closely with cross-functional teams, including persona representatives, stakeholders, software engineers, data scientists, and UX/UI designers to prioritize and deliver high-impact features and enhancements that align with our strategic goals.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and communicate the vision and strategy for the products in alignment with business objectives and customer needs using human-centred design techniques, establish personas for the products and conduct in-depth analysis of persona goals and needs.
- In close collaboration with Digital stakeholders and persona groups, translate those goals and needs in product roadmaps and feature requirements. Continuously refine and adjust the roadmap to reflect changing business priorities.
- Work with technical contacts to translate requirements into developable features. Perform structured feasibility assessment on desired features and use as input to prioritisation.
- Lead, in a matrixed fashion a team of developers, data engineers and UX/UI designers that deliver high-quality features and enhancements on time and within budget.
- Maintain a relentless focus on the user experience: lead the conversation with UX designers to build intuitive, actionable visualizations for complex data and insights. Test prototypes with user groups to ensure suitability.
- Lead the team through Agile Product development cycle, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups. Ensure that development teams have a clear understanding of product requirements and priorities.
- Support all aspects of the product’s agile lifecycle, including maintaining appropriate documentation, continuous user support, code analysis/reviews, testing, and where needed support for any system validation activities.
- Advocate for product adoption. Formulate mechanisms to measure user adoption and business value delivered. Constantly monitor these metrics, and use learnings to adjust product roadmap, design and development as required.
- Act as an escalation point for issues or blockers encountered by the development team, working across organisational boundaries to resolve.
QUALIFICATIONS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related discipline
- 7+ years experience working in similar roles with product ownership exposure
- Strong business analysis, product design and product ownership skills
- Deep empathy for the end user and a passion for the user experience
- Experience in agile software development and knowledge of development concepts and environments
- Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional business and technical teams
- Ability to navigate through organizational complexity to get the work done
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate business and technical points to colleagues
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Formal Product Ownership certification (CSPO or similar)
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies for both transactional and decision support applications (transactional databases, data lakes and data warehouses)
- Experience in data science, machine learning and AI
- Experience of working with common Agile tools such as Jira
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Will provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to a development team of 1-15 developers in a matrixed fashion.
