Job Description
All beds monitoring (may have to assist with attaching stickers), fast paced, high acuity, more than 40% of patients are admitted serves patients requiring immediate medical attention for conditions that may occur during their cancer treatment. The Urgent Care staff provides a wide range of care such as the evaluation and management of fever, nausea, vomiting and uncontrolled pain. The UC is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. No, it is not a designated emergency room or emergency department. It is not intended for patients with trauma, suspected heart emergencies, stroke, or other conditions requiring emergency medical services.
Urgent Care cannot accept patient transfers via 911 ambulance/EMS. Only established Moffitt patients can be seen and evaluated in the UC.
The Ideal Candidate
- CNA with patient care experience in an acute care setting.
- Student currently enrolled in BSN program (must have completed Nursing Fundamentals course).
- 1 year of inpatient hospital experience (preferred)
- Active BLS Card -see options
Responsibilities:
- Assist with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care to patients
- Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Adheres to rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Florida CNA License
- OR active enrollment in BSN program (must have completed Nursing Fundamentals course).
- BLS required
