Manager, Anatomic Pathology - Cytology/Histology/Surgical Pathology/Pathologist Assistant

The Manager, Anatomic Pathology holds a pivotal role in the laboratory, serving as a certified and technical expert responsible for overseeing operational, administrative, and fiscal affairs. Collaborating closely with the Executive Director and Division Chief/Medical Director, this role partners to address organizational goals into actionable strategies, directing day-to-day operations and technical functions. This entails coordinating specimen processing, diagnostic procedures, and resource allocation while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery. With a keen focus on budgetary planning, this role optimizes fiscal resources and identifies cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. Compliance with regulatory standards set by CAP, CLIA, the State of California, and the Joint Commission is paramount, necessitating vigilant oversight and continuous adherence to guidelines.CLICK HERE to learn more about the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center!

Note: This role will also oversee two laboratory locations: Irvine, CA and Huntington Beach, CA

As a successful candidate, you will oversee:

  • Financial Management: In partnership with the Director, estimate future personnel and capital equipment needs and monitor and respond to variances against budget on an ongoing basis.
  • Operational Management: Ensure that procedure manuals of all standard operating procedures are maintained, updated, and modified as new methods are introduced.
  • Personnel Management: Attract, retain, and develop quality team within areas of responsibility.
  • Quality: Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements of CAP, CLIA State of CA, and Joint Commission.
  • Clinical Research: Participate in and support research projects and protocols

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science
  • Five to seven years of clinical laboratory technical experience; Three to five years of management experience
  • HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) or CT (ASCP) or PA (ASCP)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $58.07 - $96.98 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
