Summary

The Department of Medicine, Section of Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, Texas seeks a transplant infectious diseases faculty member to join our academic program as the Director of Transplant Infectious Diseases. We seek a clinical-educator or clinician-researcher of any faculty rank to join our expanding clinical practice.

Job Duties

  1. Provide leadership for the transplant infectious diseases consult service at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and the McNair Clinic
  2. Provide infectious diseases clinical leadership for the transplant program at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and the McNair Clinic including collaborating with the transplant team at listing meetings, protocol reviews, quality improvement activities, and other leadership tasks
  3. Provide direct patient consultant care and outpatient care for pre- and post-transplant patients
  4. Develop and refine transplant protocols for the transplant program from the infectious diseases perspective
  5. Work with other transplant team members and as a team to meet CMS and UNOS benchmarks
  6. Engage in scholarly products to include on average at least 2 publications per year
  7. Participate in the education mission by supervising and training medical students, residents, clinical and research fellows, and other trainees


Minimum Qualifications

  1. MD or equivalent
  2. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases
  3. Completion of a transplant infectious diseases training program or at least 3 years relevant experience
  4. Authorized to work in the US without need for Visa sponsorship
