Position Highlights:

• Performs screening and interpretation of all cytopathology samples including fine needle aspirations, exfoliative non-gynecologic samples and gynecologic samples.
• Provides assistance to the physicians during the performance of fine needle aspirations making direct smear preparations and performing an adequacy interpretation if necessary.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has a Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology.
• Has demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of a cytopathology department including the collection, processing and interpretation of cytopathologic samples.

Responsibilities:

• Screen and interpret all cytopathologic samples excluding intraoperative touch imprint evaluation cases.
• Provide assistance to clinicians/pathologists with the collection of specimens, predominately FNA's.
• Performs the required computer functions relevant to the cytology department such as accessioning and resulting.
• Performs cytologic-histologic correlation of all available cytology samples.

Credentials and Qualifications:

• Florida state license in Cytology required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• 3 years previous cytology experience preferred.
