Serialization Business Analyst
Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY
The Serialization Business Analyst provides support for our Trade Operations team to ensure compliance with key requirements from the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA). Activities will include monitoring failures on Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS), Advance Shipping notice (ASN) and Verification Router Service (VRS) files, managing inbound customer inquiries and customer portals for return verification failure notifications. This position will also be responsible for identifying, understanding, and resolving exceptions around data exchange, verification and tracing obligations impacting Pfizer's ability to comply with DSCSA. The position does not have direct reports, but strong business systems knowledge and team-based leadership skills are required. This individual will collaborate cross functionally with Customer Service, Digital (IT), Supply Chain Operations and Finance teams. The position will report directly to the Manager, Serialization Support.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Work within Pfizer’s serialization systems to support product serialization, verification and trace requirements under DSCSA. Monitor required DSCSA EPCIS (serialized data) and ASN (lot traceability data) file data exchange between Pfizer and its downstream trading partners.
Serves as part of a team implementing business process improvements and solutions that address the DSCSA requirements.
Properly triage all DSCSA related inquiries into Pfizer.
Respond to all DSCSA regulator or trading partner DSCSA inquiries including tracing and verification request.
Support verification processes to including monitoring of a DSCSA email box for verification inquiries, investigate/document failures as well as work closely with Digital colleagues to monitor the industry interoperable Verification Router Service (VRS) system, processes, and performance to ensure it meets Pfizer’s compliance obligations.
First line of defense for all technical problems and questions regarding DSCSA.
Collaborate with other internal stakeholders (digital, quality, logistics, etc...) to resolve data misalignment exceptions with downstream trading partners or failed EPCIS files.
Research reason for failed verifications.
Communicate to trading partners notification of illegitimate or high risk of illegitimate product at the direction of the Supply Chain Security Review Team (SCSRT).
Proactively monitor Pfizer’s DSCSA systems and processes to raise issues and tickets and follow up to ensure gap has been closed/resolved.
Support DSCSA related audits.
Raise issues with relevant internal teams for resolution, including Master Data, Digital, and Distribution.
Troubleshoot on data transmission – file transfer/data transfer errors and resolution.
Consistently follow Pfizer’s trade policies, SOP’s, and standard business processes.
Manage serialization system requirements to onboard new product launches.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience
Key Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of GS1 identify (GLN, GTINs, SSCC), capture (barcodes) and share (EDI, EPCIS) standards to support DSCSA compliance
Experience with serialized track and trace systems
Experience with SAP ECC/S4 order to cash, including EDI
Strong experience with MS Excel and the handling and analyzing of large amounts of data
Strong people skills in a multi-team environment, fostering collaborative and cooperative working relationships
Exercise independent judgement and strong decision skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a timely and organized manner
Utilize critical and analytical thinking, developing standards and process improvements
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Pharmaceutical supply chain experience with an emphasis on serialization data preferred
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
