Job Summary/Basic Function
Under the general supervision of the lead Database Administrator, the Middleware Developer performs a critical role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data integration solutions across the university's enterprise systems. Responsibilities include the development and maintenance of seamless data flow and integrations between multiple platforms, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of data usage across the university; close partnership with ITD teams, data analysts, and departmental stakeholders to understand their data needs, and deliver secure, robust integration solutions; cross-team collaboration with the planning and testing of systems requirements as needed; develop processes for transaction logging for the information security team as needed.

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field. Note: An associate’s degree with five (5) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Required Related Experience
Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in data integration development and support for enterprise-level applications.

Desirable Related Experience
- Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Experience using JavaScript libraries (e.g., node, react, angular).
- Experience with GraphQL.
- Experience integrating applications with SSO solutions (e.g., SAML, OAUTH, CAS)
- Experience using tools such as Postman for building and testing API calls.
- Experience with data protection applications and transaction logging.
- Web Server experience, including performance tuning.
