Position Highlights:

The Nursing Educator seeks innovative ways to achieve educational goals for nursing and Nursing Professional Development. This position seeks and integrates current knowledge of oncology nursing and principles of adult learning into education. The Nursing Educator utilizes systematic educational planning principles, solid instructional design methods, and emerging technologies for the creation of relevant programs, materials, methods, and media to communicate information and implements monitoring and assessment measures to determine effectiveness. This individual designs high quality education programs and materials for diverse audiences with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes and facilitating nursing professional development across practice settings.

 

Under the direction of the Nursing Professional Development Director and Manager of Nursing Professional Development, this role will provide orientation and education for all levels of nursing staff across settings.

The Ideal Candidate

·Knowledge and experience in developing presentation, topics of nursing process and nursing educational needs

·Previous teaching and / or education experience is highly preferred.

 

 Responsibilities:

 

1.       Plans and implements educational plans, activities or programs to meet identified learning needs, utilizing adult education principles

Ensures effective and efficient coordination of education programs and materials

 

2.       Utilizes appropriate evaluation systems to determine effectiveness of nursing and other professional practice

3.       Collaborates with department leadership and team members to identify learning needs and competency gaps

 

Credentials and Qualifications:

·Bachelors in Nursing is required, Masters is preferred.

·State of Florida Nursing license is required, 

·3 or more years of acute care or oncology nursing experience is required

·BLS instructor certification is preferred
