Responsibilities
The Chiao Laboratory is looking for a motivated research technician to assist with the investigation of mechanisms of cardiac aging and age-related cardiovascular diseases. The duties of this position will include mouse handling (injections, blood and tissue sample collection), molecular biology techniques (RNA, protein and metabolite extraction, PCR, western blotting), reagent preparation, general laboratory maintenance and organization. Assignments are typically non-routine and variable in nature


Qualifications
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a biological science or equivalent laboratory experience.- Proficiency in handling laboratory mice.- Basic computer skills, including internet softwear and Microsoft Office- Ability to understand and follow protocols accurately. - Strong oral and written communication skills for presenting ideas and documenting procedures/data. - Organizational skills for precise work with samples and chemicals. - Proficiency in basic mathematical operations, including rate, ratio, percent, molarity, and unit conversions.
