What You Will Achieve
Working with Pfizer’s dynamic engineering team, you will play a critical part in managing the maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving the redesign, maintenance, and repair of utilities systems, buildings, and production/non-production equipment.
You will be a team member who is relied to have a good understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. Your decision making will help you prioritize workflows based on the available resources. You will follow standard procedures to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity and timing. You will contribute to the team’s success by sharing your previously acquired knowledge.

How You Will Achieve It
- Trainee must have relevant experience and strong mechanical aptitude (i.e. Journeyman Electrician). Self-starter with ability to work independently and willingness to commit to completion of formal apprenticeship training program that includes both classroom work and documented 8000 hours of on-the-job training. Good verbal and written communication skills
- A Maintenance Mechanic working within the Operations and Utilities environment. Performs preventive maintenance, modifies, installs, calibrates, and troubleshoots a multitude of measuring and control instruments which include: Analog, digital, electronic, pneumatic, and various other devices. The Mechanic also provides customer training in the implementation of those systems in compliance with company standards and procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc). Can serve as a maintenance advisor in areas of engineering (process design, material selection, documentation, calibration, testing and problem solving methodology, project scope and follow up). Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost effective manner.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- High school diploma / general education degree (GED)
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and strong mechanical aptitude.
Nice-to-Have
- Excellent computer user skills are required (Microsoft systems).
- Blue print reading a plus
- Electrical diagram reading a plus
- Excellent communications Skills
- Strong work ethic and the ambition to be the best
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Potential for exposure to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in‑motion, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting. The proper use of the correct Personal Protective Equipment for each task as well as compliance with all applicable safety Standard Procedures is a must
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Acceptance into the position includes agreement of area and shift rotation during the 8000 hour program to gain experience and knowledge in all areas of the facility to meet the minimum required hours under each of the on the job training categories specific to the trade.
Upon completion of the program, area and shift placement will be based on business need

The salary for this position ranges from $18.74 to $31.23 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
