Job Description
Position Highlights:
- The Environmental Services Training Coordinator oversees the departmental training program. This includes training and orienting new hires, performing annual training with team members, keeping all training documentation, revising existing and creating new training modules, and following up with team members who based on their quality inspections need additional hands-on training. This position works with all Supervisors, team leaders, team members in the department on every shift to ensure consistency in the training program throughout all campuses.

- Proficient in presenting material, answering questions, and engaging others in dialogue in group settings
- Familiar with presentation programs (PowerPoint)
Responsibilities:
- Training Material
Creates new training material
Continuously refines existing training material based on industry standards and best practices
Develops competencies
Researches new innovations and trainings to implement
- Policies and Procedures
Has thorough knowledge of policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Assists in revising policies and procedures
Ensures all training material adheres to policies and procedures
- New hire Orientation
Manages the training of all new team members
Runs the ongoing departmental new hire orientation
Spends adequate time with each new hire to ensure their development
Documents all new hire training and confirms their understanding of policies and procedures
Acclimates new hires to the buildings and campuses as appropriate
Provides hands-on training to new hires
- Contractors and Vendors
Trains and orients contractors or vendors who will be working at Moffitt (example: temp labor)
Ensures contracted personnel understand policies and procedures and departmental standards
Educates them on shift management (the process of signing in/out, who to report to, how to contact their direct report, picking up keys and pagers, etc.)
- Documentation and Record Maintenance
Provides assistance with state and local regulatory agencies
Maintains training documents and files appropriately
- Supervising Staff
At times, will assume responsibility of managing team members in the absence of their Supervisor
Oversees all new hires in their first week of employment (scheduling, job assignments, etc.)
- Other Duties
Will perform other duties as assigned based on departmental and operational needs
Including but not limited to follow up on quality or team member issues, make operational decisions, and a variety of other functions as necessary
Credentials and Qualifications:
- Associates Degree
- 6 years of environmental services and/or housekeeping experience in a healthcare provider facility, research lab and/or medical facility environment is required
*Three (3) years of customer service experience required (may be inclusive with the experience above)
*Two (2) years supervisory, team or project lead experience required (may be inclusive with the experience above
*in lieu of an Associated Degree*
A HS diploma/GED with 2 additional external years of (or 1 internal year Moffitt EVS specific experience) related EVS work experience plus the 6 years (for a total of 8 years)
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
*Three (3) years environmental services and/or housekeeping experience in a hospital setting.
