Our department is looking to add a Nightingale Registered Nurse (RN). The purpose of this position is to harness the skills of an experienced RN who recently retired but has a desire to transfer their knowledge to newer nurses within the organization. Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Providing direct nursing care to patients undergoing gastroenterology procedures, such as endoscopies.

• Providing coaching, teaching and educational materials.

• Providing assessments and audits of daily practice.

• Assessing educational needs of patients and families.

The ideal future caregiver is someone who:

• Has a current state licensure as an RN and at least three years of experience in an RN Hospital position at Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement.

• Demonstrates a strong work ethic and decisive judgement.

• Has excellent communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports Care Coordinator panel management using their knowledge and expertise to guide/mentor those new to the role and those who would benefit from additional support in work prioritization.
  • Performs the clerical functions of the Care Coordinator or Transitional Care Management Hub Care Coordinator adding to productivity and safe patient transitions.
  • Works as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • BSN preferred.

Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • For Homecare and Hospice field staff only, must have valid Ohio Driver’s license upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter.
  • For Homecare and Hospice field staff only, must have proof of automobile insurance coverage with $100,000/$300,000 coverage, upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter.

Competencies:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Care Coordinator position at the Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement.
  • Current demonstrated clinical competence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • May require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
  • Light work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
