Position Summary

Performs a variety of diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures, for patients of all ages, that requires the safe and effective use of radionuclides.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizes safe techniques to include protective shielding and prescribed safety standards for the preparation and handling of radioactive sources.
  • Assists physician and/or prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to the patient.
  • Responsible for routine and modified procedures requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning, human physiology, and equipment for selection and modification of technical factors, which produce optimum results.
  • Assists in performing First Aid and CPR, as necessary.
  • Responsible for upkeep and organization of the Hot Lab, equipment calibration checks/field uniformity, and reporting/scheduling equipment maintenance, as necessary.
  • Maintains records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage and disposal in accordance with state and federal regulations governing the accountability for radioactive materials.
  • Develops, maintains and participates in staff educational programs. Provides technical instruction to other departments.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to maintain certification/licensure, and/or keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Attends departmental meetings as required and participates in the department continuing education program.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

Minimum Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 years in Nuclear Medicine as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Required Certification/Licensure:

  • California State Certification in Nuclear Med Technology (CNMT)AND
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (CNMT)orR.T. (N) (ARRT)
  • BLS

Preferred education experience and skills:

  • Certification in Computed Tomography ARRT (CT),
  • Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT (MR)

Additional Information:

  • Pay Range: $43.906250/hr - $57.078125/hr - $70.25/hr
  • Multiple positions available

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
