Job Description

We are seeking a Laboratory Specialist for a genomics and cellular immunology focused inflammatory bowel disease research laboratory. Laboratory activities include processing of study subject biosamples, isolation of cell subpopulations using magnetic bead-based and/or flow cytometry cell sorting techniques, cell culture, single cell and bulk multimodal omics analysis, and preparation of DNA samples for sequence variant analysis. Work schedule: Monday-Friday, generally 8:30 – 5:00 pm, with occasional need for flexibility to adhere to timing of experiment protocols.

Experience in molecular biology and/or cellular immunology laboratory work is required. Familiarity with flow cytometry cell sorting and/or sequencing library preparation is desirable. Familiarity with the Microsoft Windows computer environment is necessary, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel is desirable. Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, immunology or other related field required, as well as two to three years of experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted per university guidelines.
