Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director - Projects and Development, this position will join a team of developers and other IT professionals to analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain the Student Information System (SIS) and Student Administration System PeopleSoft Applications in support of establishing a sustainable institutional technological infrastructure.

The Office of the Registrar supports the teaching and learning mission of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We are building a better campus community by supporting students, faculty, and staff through the creation and implementation of essential enrollment, curricular, credit, and student record services, tools, and guidance. We are part of the Division of Enrollment Management, which includes the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, and the Office of Student Financial Aid. Our mission encompasses the following:

The Office of the Registrar has a supportive and progressive working environment. We are a smart, collaborative team of nearly 60, in office suites at the top of 333 East Campus Mall. There are many opportunities for professional development and participation in office activities like our wellness and diversity initiatives. Team members also enjoy the flexibility of their choice of work environment: near-fully remote (with a couple required in-person events per year), hybrid, or onsite options available. These options are evaluated on a yearly basis and are subject to a remote work agreement.

EDUCATION:
Preferred
Associate's Degree

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
-Familiarity with PeopleSoft, PeopleCode, and PeopleSoft Tool Set
-Experience creating or modifying information systems, including analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic diagrams as necessary
-Demonstrated expertise and attention to quality customer service
-Ability to articulate technical concepts to a variety of proficiency levels
-Knowledge of SQL; experience creating and running queries
-Experience with integration development
-Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, and develop alternative solutions
-Demonstrated effective communication abilities and strategies
-Ability to work, plan, and meet due dates independently
-Team player - Demonstrated ability to work well in groups to solve problems
-Positive attitude
-Effective verbal and written communication

Preferred
-Experience working with and/or modifying Oracle's Campus Solutions or other enterprise resource planning software (ERP) or similar student information system
-Understanding of Oracle Databases
-Familiarity with Informatica
-Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience
-Programming experience with an object-oriented concepts
-Experience writing PL/SQL programs
-Familiarity with restful APIs
-Knowledge of University Registrar best practices as they relate to student records, student services, and registration business processes and systems
