Job DescriptionPosition Description & Details:
The Administrative Assistant for Computer Science provides administrative support to the chair of Computer Science; financial compliance and management; communications for the department; office operations; payroll processing and reconciliations; work safely; and other duties as assigned. This position develops, implements, and monitors procedures and systems that provide productive and efficient operations while ensuring the department is in compliance with university and college administrative policies and procedures.
Monitor and make judgments on the use of the Office Budget, departmental endowment funds, grant overhead, and other discretionary funds.
Forecast expenditure rates and budgets.
Compilation of monthly budget reports.
Processing of department A/R’s, A/P’s, and deposits.
Assisting in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and separation of faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and other part-time employees.
Processing of all payroll paperwork.
Assist with communications for the department, including webpage management.
Helping with preparation of annual reports and surveys.
Oversee department operational needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Monday thru Friday, 8am-5pm
Associates degree with 2 years of directly related work experience, or 4 years directly related work experience.
Ability to multi-task.
Proven experience in problem solving.
Customer service oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
1 year of directly related work experience.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize duties and respond promptly to technical requests or ability to independently research and compile data.
6+ years directly related work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related major.
